My Dutch friends Anneka, Ubel and Jenny have been very kind to me, helping me to find prime real estate on the gym floors (they're always finished before me each day, so they pre-nab me a good spot before I arrive). Huge thanks to them - lifesavers! It's a reminder that we ultrarunners are totally dependent on the kindness of strangers...

Hi RS!
I am so looking forward to your theatrical sneaker lob! I hope someone will capture it on film. I have been running in my wedding present sneakers. They are fabulous. Every time I get tired on my tiny little neighborhood run, I think of you and it takes me that much further. Thanks for the inspiration!

Russ: I have been reading your blogs as often as I can, but am finally caught-up...reading these blogs everyday takes a toll... :p

Hi Russ--
I can't believe you're almost to 30 days straight. INCREDIBLE!!! Amy and I continue to read your posts and send you lots of love and strength each day. Ramsay
P.S.-Scheduled induction for Monday, May 18th--so little boy will be here to cheer you on soon too.
I was just thinking to myself that you have this amazing opportunity to live in the present. While it may feel completely unpredictable, it's really a gift to be able to take each day as it comes.
I'm envious and inspired!
Keep up the good work, Russ.

Stumbling up S. First at the end of a hot and humid 3-mile evening run, feeling out of sorts, and cranky, and longing for the end, I am reminded what a mental tough guy you really are. (Or is that mentally tough?)
Either way, incredibly resilient.
Keep it up.
Cheers,
Stuart
