Dinner in Vansbro

Dinner in the local school tonight was charming, with authentic Swedish folk music on hand. I dined on copious quantities of spaghetti bolognese, salmon and salad, with a coffee / cookie chaser. I'd appreciate it all that much more if I was less tired!

We were invited back to take part in the Vansbro 3K river swim (famous, apparently, in Sweden), but I don't think there were any takers. Maybe they'd have enticed more of this hardcore bunch if it had been a 30K swim instead?!

Hey Coach!
Keep up the good work...the "floating" image keeps me going when I start to get down. I'll never forget that you taught me that! We're all so proud of you!

So nice to see your photo on the blog earlier this week. You are looking strong!

Chris Barton and I had lunch yesterday, and we discussed how you are not really running ACROSS Europe, but rather UP Europe. That, psychologically at least, seems like uphill all the way to these mortals. And thus, makes your accomplishment each and every step all the more inspiring.

Keep floating and watch out for those Volvos!

Just saw the videos that Mike took.
I almost did not recognize the long haired hippie!! I guess you have been to busy to get a hair cut.
It really is great to see you looking so well.
We are all cheering you on from afar!
Keep up the great job,
Love ya

I feel down about things going on here (economy, company working for being acquired, dog attacking neighbor's cat, etc...), and then I read your blog and feel quite inspired.

Good god, if you can run across (or up Europe as Val and Chris put it), then for certain, I can endure and do so with a cheerful disposition.

Cheers to you on your journey. Keep those pictures coming. No left or right list can be seen from Austin -- you and your mates look strong!

I ran 2 slow marathons in 2 states within 2 weeks from each other in May. I thought it was a big deal. However, your epic run & daily reports have done a fine job in making me reflect & put things in perspective. You are an inspiration & it is an honor knowing you.
