My friend J-B Jaouen is of course totally correct - I did "solemnly promise that I will never do anything this crazy ever again" on this very blog on June 21, the last day of Trans Europe 2009.
But that was before I knew that the 2012 course would be shorter (
only 4,000km) and would run through my "home country" of England. And so therefore...my bib number for 2012 is #19. How tough could it possibly be?!

Really, really tough. Zero-% body fat tough. Friggin' big ol' lorries barreling down the wrong side of the road at you tough. I'm just sayin'.
Oh, oh, I keep meaning to tell you: yours is the only book in my library that doesn't have any text on the spine. Huh.
Well, technically, since you promised not to do anything "this crazy," and the 2012 race will be slightly less crazy, I'd say you're in the clear, Russ.
So you're cutting back on the miles, eh? Definitely will be following your progress. Maybe you should start eating more, starting now!
AWESOME!
On t'excuse, Russell !
So, because next Trans Europe will also cross my native country (France) I will have the great honour and pleasure to run it with the company of my English neighbour and friend Russell. Great !
J.B.J., race number 21
Mad Man
Holy Smokes!!!
I kind of agree w/ Chris, but I think going back for seconds counts as more crazy. Either way - you're in the clear. GO RUSSELL!
Hey!
I just found out that you register to TEFR12. Chicken! Could you not find anything tougher? After TEFR09 there is only the World Run part 3 that could increase the pressure and give enought pleasure. Stay in bed or find yourself a decent challenge your old pice of wrack...
TEFR12. I will cry for you...
Take care and make some nice strides for me! Please...

Hey, I'll run some miles with you in your native land. Not sure how many natives are as crazy as you!
